Carla Johnson

Carla is dedicated to educate, inspire and encourage all women to gain a deeper understanding on how their bodies work which allows them to confident and instinctively make the best food choices at any one time. 

Her area of specialty is focusing on women's health and hormonal issues including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), Hashimoto's Disease, transitioning through to menopause and diabetes.

With over a 14 years of experience, Carla has worked with hundreds of women who are confused, bamboozled and consequently unsure with how to nourish themselves, and she found they are often doing more damage than good in their efforts to be healthy.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics ​(Deakin University)
  • Graduate Certificate of Health Promotion (Deakin University)
  • Accredited Practising Dietitian (Dietitian's Australia)
  • ANZAED Credentialled Eating Disorder Dietitian

Background

My food beliefs stem from a culturally diverse upbringing with a Chinese mother and an Italian-Australian father where everyone is brought together over a meal. I believe that a strong, positive relationship with food is important for nourishment and emotional wellbeing and I want to share and support other's to have the same approach.

My previous work in the hospital and community health sectors and experience in delivering corporate health and wellbeing programs has shaped my ability to understand the fuller life picture, and has also lead me down a new path towards teaching a more intuitive approach to food and health.

I am still learning and exploring the complexities of food and the relationship we have with it in order to offer women a more nourishing and embracing way of living a full and authentic life.

Through a more liberated approach, I can show you that eating well doesn't always mean starving yourself but instead, achieve a way of life that you can continue doing always.

The little things

  • In my spare time, I enjoy getting together with friends over a wine, doing some retail therapy and pottering around in my garden
  • I'm a mum to two small people and two miniature schnauzers
  • My secret treat is a warm, almond croissant eaten alongside a cafe latte
  • Hot Yoga has become my new "me-time" activity - it's my mini escape to Bali each week, just for the hour​​
